My friends and I were really looking forward to seeing this movie but it was sold out. We instead saw Perks of being a Wall Flower, and I completely fell inlove. As cliche as it sounds this movie made me both laugh and cry. This movie is based off the book by Stephen Chbosky. The main character of the film is 15-year-old Charlie (Logan Lerman) and there’s greater trauma inside of him than standard teen insecurities. The embodiment of the it gets better campaign, Charlie is prone to sitting on the sidelines, but he also has more serious problems, including a recent stint in a mental hospital and a best friend that committed suicide. He’s so conscious of the ridicule from his classmates he’s already counting the days until he graduates from his suburban Pittsburgh high school. He clearly did not feel as though he belonged. Until he meets two people who are not the most popular but are the most accepting and welcoming. The onetime child star Emma Watson is Sam, Chairlie's love interest and Ezra Miller is hilarious and heartrending as Patrick, Sam's step-brother. All together you see their struggles and successes in their year. The Perks of Being a Wallflower" is one of those films that if people see it at the right time in their life, it changes their life. This is a film that is so emotionally inspiring that it comes along once in a generation and is quite possibly going to become a generation-defining classic. This is awesome because anyone can relate to it and ass depressing as it may sound, this will warm your heart. The message the film sends is inspriring and I will always remember it.
