I attended Chicopee Comprehensive High School, which has 1500 students and is larger than Nichols College. My first job was at Subway. I would work 6 days a week 36 hours a week. It was awful, I worked for an Asian lady that could barely speak any English. On top of that she would call me on my day off at like ten at night to complain about other workers from other stores. If it wasn't for her then the job wouldn't have been so bad. Each weekend I would walk out with about forty dollars in tips. And also worked with some of my high school friends. I left Subway for something that was much better and something that would be much more of an accomplishment. In my high school as you enter, my name is on a plaque. As you see the plaque you will also see the Credit Union in my high school that I helped open. It was me an two other interns who opened a branch of Polish National Credit Union in our school. It was a very interesting and fun experience. It is also the first bank in a high school, in Western Massachusetts. I have also worked for PNCU as a teller for over a year and a half now.
In this course I hope to learn a little bit more about Microsoft Excel because I am an Accounting Major. And by knowing more about the program will help me further my career.
For a blog that interests me is a blog about the Red Sox. The one that I found most interesting is on Overthemonster.com. It's a blog with all of the latest Red Sox news. It is very up to date with the latest signings and injury updates. It also discusses the top prospects currently in the Red Sox farm system Also the blog has updates for the Red Sox front office, like the team adding Pedro Martinez as the special assistant to the GM.
As I read you blog post I noticed that you were from Chicopee Massachusetts. I my best friend goes to school at Elms college in Chicopee and she love it there. She said it has its good and bad parts but overall it is a pretty nice little town. From the time that I have spent at her college I have thought that Chicopee is a pretty cool place to live. One thing I noticed was that the houses are pretty close together so I thought that the neighborhoods are sort of like a close-knit family. That it how it is in my hometown, it reminds me a lot of Chicopee. One other thing that it noticed from you blog post was that you worked at subway with a woman that you couldn’t understand very well. I was in a similar situation in high school when I used to serve meals at a local nursing home. Trust me, I hated not being able to understand the cook she had a very strong German accent and I felt like an idiot asking her to repeat things.
ReplyDeleteNate,
ReplyDeleteI also worked at a restaurant called Barefoot Bobs and PinkBerry. I can one-hundred percent relate to you on your job experience! I have had to do crazy hours and even work from the morning until about one in the morning the next day! Talk about aggravating, but yes tips are always awesome. You are very young to have accomplished so much for yourself. Congrats. Opening a business can be very stressful and time consuming. But going by your blog it seems that you made the best out of it and didn't let it get to. I think that positivity makes a world of a difference! That also shows personal accomplishment as well. Just by reading this I feel like you have more of a grounding on what you want to do in you life and that you are mature. I also like the Red Sox, my favorite player was Jason Varitek. He was very talented and a dedicated player. But actually going to Fenway to see the sox is awesome!
