Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

This past March, my friends and I took a trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
South Carolina is definitely the most beautiful place I have ever been to. (I've never left the country, but I'd say this is the nicest place in America.)

My four friends and I packed our luggage, placed it in the back of one of their trucks, and we set off for our 14 hour journey.
The car ride was honestly half the fun. Stopping at gas stations, getting food, annoying each other to the last bit of patience we had, it was all worth it. For getting there and back, we all only had to pay about $40 for gas, which is much less expensive than a plane ticket.

After the fourteen hours of being cooped up in a tiny Ford truck, we arrived at our hotel, which was right on the beach. Since it was spring break, there were many hotel & motel specials going on. We ended up paying $30 a night per person, for our water front hotel. It was amazing.

I would love to go back to Myrtle Beach for another vacation. There was so much to do, from mini golf to clubs, we were always entertained.

The palm trees and warm air made it feel like I was in paradise, somewhere I would definitely want to revisit.

  1. I think this is a beautiful spot to go to. I would totally love to live here if it weren’t for the cold winds coming from the ocean. That’s the only reason as to why I would probably not ever end up on a coastal area. Visiting would always be a go for me, but just not to live.
I like that you guys drove there too. I’ve been dying to go on a road trip. I probably will this summer. But I just don’t know where I want to go yet… But I do know that with the right group of friends, it will be a great time no matter where the destination is.
I also think it’s awesome that you guys got to go on a road trip and book a water-front hotel & not spend too much money. I guess spring break is where all the good deals for fun times are at. But overall, the beach is beautiful and the attractions seem awesome. Great pick for a spring break trip!

  2. JUlie great job on this blog! I have always wanted to visit Myrtle Beach but have neglected because of flight costs. However you have done an awesome job at making the dreadful drive down a good time! I agree that seeing the sites along the way, stopping for food and bonding with friends can be half the fun! I hope to copy your idea for next years spring break and do the same! This is an awesome option for broke college kids to just get away from all the stress and anxiety that comes with school even just for a few days. I can just picture it now. I can not wait to do this and see the beautiful beach. Awesome job on the blog and I can agree that this would be life changing to pack up and go spure of the moment. You made this trip sound like an amazing time and for not alot of money. I can wait to expirence this someday myself!
