Party and Samba! Welcome to Rio!

I've been to Brazil twice in my life now. Both times was because of family, not because it was my personal choice. If it was my choice, I would have decided to go to Rio De Janeiro (January River in Portuguese). But I would only want to go their during one specific time of the year, which is Carnival. Carnival is a festival that goes from the Friday to Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, also known as the beginning of Lent. Since this takes place in February, it would be best to go during February vacation. To go you will need a passport book and card, which  will cost you $140 for the application and $25 for the execution fee. Once I have that, I have to buy a plane ticket, which would cost around $1314.75 according to Priceline.com. Once their, I'd check into the hotel as part of my deal with Priceline. In Rio their are many things to do, but first I would go visit the beach. The beaches in Rio are considered some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and have some of the most beautiful women in the world. I would probably lounge on the beach, go swim, or play volleyball. After that I would want to go visit Christ the Redeemer, a famous statue in Rio. It is located on the peak of Corcovado mountain, overlooking the city. Not to mention it's the fifth biggest statue of Jesus in the world, standing at 98 ft tall.

By that time, the day would have ended, and their fore nothing to do. Im just kidding! At night, the city becomes alive with music, food and dancing. I'd stop by a churrascaria, or Brazilian BBQ, where they serve you meat on a skewer at your table.

Like I said before, the time of year would be Carnival, which floods the street with parades. The parades include many extravagant floats, samba bands, dazzling dancers and colorful lights. The party is so immense and expensive, the city shuts down for six days in advance to prepare, and earned Carnival the title of, " One of the biggest shows on Earth." I would caution that Rio has had it's share of crime, so I would try my best to not go near any favellas, or slum neighborhoods. But a trip like that is something I wouldn't want to miss for the world. Maybe when I graduate, I'll visit for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Either way, Rio De Janeiro is my dream vacation.

  1. I definitely agree with you Reeve, Brazil's carnival, is classified as the best carnival around the world. As you said before the only problem would be the crime, but excluding this part the best holiday would be at Rio De Janeiro, about the big meat is because brazil is the country with ones of the best meat in general including mainly cow.
My best wishes for you in your next visit to the Olympics game. This date definitely would be a great date for visit the country

  2. Wow Reeve, visiting the city Rio de Janeiro sounds really cool. I think I would really enjoy spending time there because I am a person who loves to spend the day at the beach swimming, surfing and just napping in the sun. Another thing that I thought was really cool about your post was how you mentioned the giant statue of Jesus that you wanted to visit. I am also very religious and I think it would want to visit the giant statue as well. I think this is because I have never seen a statue that is 98 feet tall and I think it would be something that I would need to see. I noticed that you also noticed that you mentioned the night life and beautiful women that are in Rio de Janeiro. I think I would really love coming back from the beach in the afternoon and grabbing some food then going out to a party or night club for the rest of the evening. You made this place sounds so cool that I defiantly have to take a trip there some time when I have the money!
