Dream Vacation

My dream vacation would be to go to Amsterdam. I have wanted to go there for a long time because Amsterdam is in the Netherlands and they are the Dutch, and so am I. So it has always been somewhere I have wanted to visit. There is a lot of things you can do in Amsterdam. They have a bunch of Attractions and museums to go and see. I would want this vacation to be a week long.

The vacation would not be very cheap though. I would need the flight over to Amsterdam, which will have at least two stops on the way. Also I would need a hotel for a week because I would be going on this vacation for a week. Then I would need a car to drive myself around for the week. After searching Kayak for a little bit, I was able to find a vacation package. It has a very nice hotel , and it also allows me to rent a car and obviously fly over. I would take Air Canada for my flight over to Amsterdam. When I got there I would get my two door rental car to get me to my hotel. The hotel I would stay at is Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Amsterdam Centraal Station. In total the trip would cost around $2124.

One of the first things I would go see when I arrive in Amsterdam would be the Anne Frank House. I had to read her book in middle school and I have always had an interest for WWII history. And by going there, I would be where history happened. I would also go to the Van Gogh Museum to see all of his famous artworks. I would also go to the Amsterdam Museum to see the history of the small city. Amsterdam is also home to a few sport teams so I would take a tour of their Arenas. One of the last things I would do there would be to go and do the Olympic Experience, at the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam built in 1928. The last museum I would go to would be the Hash, Marijuana and Hemp Museum. I would also like to go to their local coffee shops so I have the chance to experience their culture. It is one of the few places I would like to go in my lifetime and make sure to make time to experience their culture.

Aruba Vacation

If I could go anywhere in the world for a week’s vacation I’d probably have to pick to go to Aruba. The first and most obvious reason would be the beautiful weather down there; it’s always nice to go to the beach’s down south and get away from the New England Weather. Being a hockey player I love winter as much as anyone, but come summer time I turn into a total beach bum. The next reason would be that when I was younger, about three years old, my parents brought me on vacation there but I was so little then that I don’t really remember much about it now; I’ve always thought it would be cool to finally go back.

A flight to Aruba would cost about $850 in airfare round trip (estimate from JetBlue). Once I go there, I’d divide my week into two halves; the first half would be for exploring and doing various excursions throughout the islands, the second half of which would contain days with nothing on the schedule other than relaxing on the beach all day. The first of the excursions I would want to do is the Sea Trek Underwater Helmet Walk ($48 for one hour). I have had a few friends go on trips like this in the past and they all agreed this was the highlight of the vacation. On this trip you are equipped with a specially designed helmet, ad then lowered 20 feet below the surface. From there you hike along the 375 foot underwater path where you can see sunken ships and a crashed plane, you can have your picture taken sitting at the Sea Trek Café, and you can even pet a variety of tropical fish. While in Aruba I’d also like to try windsurfing. For those unfamiliar with windsurfing, it basically looks just like a normal surfboard but it has a sail mounted on it. I was able to find a site that offered a 2 hour lesson for $50, and then a rental board after that would cost about $30 for a 2 hour rental. Although those excursions and activities would be fun and all, the highlight of the week for me would being able to just sit on the beach. I hate the vacations where you go away for a week and then walk around touring and doing 7 days of activity, leaving you more exhausted than you started and wanting a second vacation just to recover from the first, so I would enjoy just having a few days to hang out, relax, and enjoy the Aruba weather.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

This past March, my friends and I took a trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
South Carolina is definitely the most beautiful place I have ever been to. (I've never left the country, but I'd say this is the nicest place in America.)

My four friends and I packed our luggage, placed it in the back of one of their trucks, and we set off for our 14 hour journey.
The car ride was honestly half the fun. Stopping at gas stations, getting food, annoying each other to the last bit of patience we had, it was all worth it. For getting there and back, we all only had to pay about $40 for gas, which is much less expensive than a plane ticket.

After the fourteen hours of being cooped up in a tiny Ford truck, we arrived at our hotel, which was right on the beach. Since it was spring break, there were many hotel & motel specials going on. We ended up paying $30 a night per person, for our water front hotel. It was amazing.

I would love to go back to Myrtle Beach for another vacation. There was so much to do, from mini golf to clubs, we were always entertained.

The palm trees and warm air made it feel like I was in paradise, somewhere I would definitely want to revisit.

Are you sick of the cold and unpredictable New England weather that we have to deal with? Do you want to get away from the maniac drivers, the hectic and busy lifestyle that stress's you out on a daily basis? There is only one solution to this probelm, and that is to give yourself a break, and get away to the beautiful Island of the Bahamas! It isn't just the same as any other tropical place that you have seen on the tv adds and it is located right off the coast of florida, making it so that The Bahamas is still part of the United States. Something to put your mind at ease is to picture yourself laying out on the beach with the warm rays of the sun shining down on you or walking oceanside down the beach with the breeze of the ocean brushing on your face and into your hair, while your toes are sinking into the soft, beautiful white sand located on the island.

When you are taking an amazing trip like the one I just explained above, you have to start off expecting to be paying for your airfair, hotel, food, and not to mention the spending money that you will need for many activities you endure while being in the Bahamas. A flights cost can always range depending on the airline of your choice, I have found flights as high at 319$ for a round trip, but depending on the dates that you wish to depart and arrive on, flight costs can vary. As for hotels go, there are many options for hotels to stay at beginning from cheap, to very expensive if you are willing to pay that much. The Atlantis Hotel which is something that the Bahamas is known for, is said to be about 400.00$ a night, per person. However you can always find other beautiful hotels located on the island that are much more reasonable in their prices. For food and beverages the pricing varies, but we all know that if you are the type that likes to kick back and have a few cocktails at the beach then this will be your biggest expense. I will tell you, that the Mai Tai's there are absolutely phenomenal and I swear are sent from heaven. Many resorts that I know of offer the guests other extra cost options that are family oriented such as the dolpin rides, I know that these go over big with little kids especially because it is such an unforgettable experience. If you are a leisure traveler and like to tour around the places that you embark your vacation too, some hotels offer tour busses that will take you safely around the island to explore more in depth into the island.

I am over the top excited to finally get to go on the vacation of my dreams, and I am fully ready for everything that I will need to make this an unforgettable vacation experience for me. I hope that you will take my advice and book a trip to the Bahamas as well.

Dream Vacation to Ireland

There has always been one place that I wanted to go ever since I fully understood that I was part Irish. That place was Ireland. There wasn't a specific part of Ireland that I want to visit, I want to visit everything that I possibly can. I would leave from Logan Airport in Boston and fly to the capital of Ireland. For those who did not know the capital of Ireland is Dublin. After looking at many different price listings for flights was from JetBlue which round-trip was $1,692. For the lowest price on a hotel would be $80 per night. The name of the hotel is the Tara Hotel in Dublin, Ireland. There were other hotels that had lower prices but I decided on this hotel because it had a lot of free things such as free Wi-Fi, free parking, and sales on specific rooms. In Ireland it is easy enough to walk from place to place. But say you wanted to go somewhere that was farther away it would be easier to rent a car. The lowest price I found for a car that you could rent in Ireland in from Hertz at $31 per week.

In Ireland there are many things to do and many things to see. One thing the Irish are known for is their beer, more importantly Guinness beer. The factory in which the beer was made is in town of Dublin. You can take tours and see how it is made. There are also many cultural things to do as well such as going to pubs and trying the local food and seeing the different types of buildings. One of the main foods you would have to try while you were in Ireland would be either corn beef and cabbage or Irish stew. Another attraction to see in Dublin is the Dublin Castle. Besides just this castle there are many other castles located throughout Ireland that you can go visit and take tours of. There is also the Blarney Stone that is very popular to visit. The tradition is that when you visit the rock is you are supposed to kiss it and get your picture taken with it.

Washington D.C

Washington D.C

By: Garrett Cesander

Before I moved away to the cold northeast that is Massachusetts, I lived in our great nation's capital, Washington D.C. Built from land donated by Virginia as well as Maryland and named after our first president George Washington, Washington D.C is of the most important places in the entire world is also one of the most magical. From the towering monuments dedicated to our nations glorious past or to the beautiful back bay, Washington D.C is a magical place. Looking back on all the great memories I had there I have decided that I want to eventually move back, whenever I can.
There are numerous sites to see in D.C
Our nations earlier years are decorated throughout the great city. From enormous war memorials that honors our nations soldiers that served in numerous wars to large detailed statues that show off our most famous presidents. You could go visit some of the most famous museums is the entire world, the museum of natural history for example. Many of the museums hold artifacts and famous pieces of history that can only be found in D.C. You could also visit Washington D.C's amazing park that is located in downtown. Known as the National Mall, it has hundreds of beautiful gigantic trees that overlook many ponds that are filled with the local wild life, also most of the monuments and museums are located in the area..
If site seeing isn't your fancy there is still plenty of things D.C has to offer. For one is their professional sports teams. Depending on the time of year you can experience professional football, basketball, baseball, and hockey at its finest. Each sport has an amazingly large and beautiful stadium that will offer you sport that is excitement and has plenty of trills. The last big thing D.C has to offer is the back bay. A great way to cool off to the blazing heat of the summer, the back bay offers family swimming as well as a boardwalk that will surely give you a day's worth of activities.
Getting to Washington D.C shouldn't be a problem for anyone especially from Boston. JetBlue offers weekly flights to D.C for as low as $49 on specific flights. If flying is not your cup of tea driving from Boston takes only about six hours which gives you half a day if you leave early enough. Anyways, I can't wait till I get back to Washington D.C and experience the things I used to.

Virginia Beach

I've been to many different beaches in my life, but my favorite one of all is Virginia Beach. I've been there a couple of times while staying in Virginia with my family for a week. I'm actually going there again  this summer in about 2 months so I'm very excited to go and visit there again. I've wanted to go there for about 2 years now and I can't wait to see the beach again. The sun is always up and you can find parking easily anywhere. There are a lot of big and fancy hotels nearby the beach so you don't have to even drive there and it'd be just a 5 minute walk to the beach! There are so many restaurants and stores around the beach area that it's hard to choose where to go to lunch. I remember that there were bicycles that people could rent for a couple of hours and you could ride your bike around the area. The ocean is incredible because the water is clear and the waves are fun to go through. At nights there were performances, fireworks, and shows in the beach. I remembered we saw a magician that was doing cool tricks in front of the little kids.
Last time, my family drove to Virginia and it was almost a 10 hour drive from Massachusetts. We stayed at a hotel that was 30 minutes away from the beach. It was a nice drive because I got to see different places down the road from other states such as Connecticut and New Jersey. This year I am flying to Virginia with a friend and the plane cost was $325 in Delta Airlines for a roundtrip from Boston for each person. I'm going to be staying in a house in Norfolk, Virginia which is literally 15 minutes away from Virginia Beach. I can't wait to lie in the sand and feel the sun on my skin. I'm probably going to be in the water all day because the ocean is my favorite part. Maybe I'll make a sand castle just for fun. I'm definitely going to the beach at nights just to see what kind of performances are going to be there. I know I'll want to go there again after I leave from Virginia

As a child my favorite vacation spot was Bock Island in the summer months of July and August. I’m not sure exactly what it is about Block Island that makes it so special but for some reason it is my favorite vacation spot in the entire world. Block Island is and island about thirteen miles off the coast of Rhode Island. The best way to get to Block Island is by a ferry leaving from Point Judith Rhode Island or from New London Connecticut.
The ferry from New London Connecticut is a high speed ferry and the ride takes about an hour and a half to two hours. if you leave from Point Judith it is a shorter ride of only about an hour, and you take a slow ferry that reaches a high speed of about seventeen miles per hour. This is a more comfortable ride because even it the weather if rough the boat is so large that it will not have an effect on your stomach. the cost of the ferry ride to block island is about fifteen dollars one way so it is relatively cheap to get to Block Island and it does not require buying and expensive plane ticket. In my opinion the best place to stay while vacationing in is the Blue Dory Inn. This Inn is beautiful because you can see the water from the back deck of most of the houses. This means that it only takes a thirty second walk to get to the beach, another thirty second walk in the opposite direction, then you are in the middle of down town Block Island. Another reason that Block Island is my dream vacation spot is for the wide variety of activities that you can do and the place you can go while you are there. My personal favorite is going to Crescent Beach, the main beach on Block Island.  I love to spend a day on my skim board, or swimming in the warm water. Another common activity in Block Island is bike riding. There are many trails throughout the island as well as the main roads. They are safe to ride on because to top speed limit on the island is thirty miles per hour. Other tourist attractions on Block Island include the Mohegan Bluffs, the Coast Guard Station, and Rodman’s hollow which a hiking area is. Block Island is also home to many great restaurants such as The Mohegan, Sharkys Bar and Grill, The Oar, Beach Head and Ballard’sBar Inn. Over all Block island is a wonderful place to take a vacation because of the beautiful beaches, the numerous attractions, and the restaurants. It is my number one vacation spot and I would highly recommend checking it out in the summer months of July and August.

Cedar Point

Cedar Point Cedar Point Amusement Park is a ten hour drive, and a six hundred and fifty six mile drive from Dudley MA. It is located in Sandusky, OH. It is one of the biggest and best amusement parks in America. It is known as the roller coaster capital of the world! Cedar Point has fifteen roller coasters, and seventy two rides. It is also known for its many achievements including being the only amusement park in the world with four roller coasters taller than two hundred feet, and having the second most tallest roller coaster in the world! If you are a person who loves fast rides and roller coasters, then Cedar Point is the right vacation for you. It is family friendly but also good for couples, and teenagers. No matter who you are, you will enjoy this vacation, so why not plan a vacation there? One of my personal favorites for roller coasters is the Dragster. The Dragster is four hundred feet tall and is the second tallest roller coaster in the world. The line can be a bit of a wait; ranking anywhere from thirty minutes to three hours, but it is worth all the time spent waiting in line when you finally get on. The Dragster launches you up the four hundred feet going incredibly fast, while making many twists and turns along the way, guarantying you a few screams. There are many hotels surrounding Cedar Point including Cedar Points Castaway Bay Resort Sandusky, Quality Inn & Suites at Cedar Point Sandusky, and the Great Wolf Lodge Sandusky. There are also many yummy restaurants that are reasonably priced, including Famous Dave's, Diana's Deli Restaurant, Cici's Pizza, and the traditional Pizza Hut. A typical hotel in season cost around one hundred and fifty dollars, while the passes to get into Cedar Point cost forty five dollars a person for a one day pass. Of course discounts are available if you go more than one day or go with more than one person. The restaurant costs in the area are typical prices and cost about the same as the restaurants in Dudley, MA.

Cabo San Lucas

I have always wanted to go on a vacation far, far away to the beaches of Mexico. CaboSan Lucas is perfect for this excursion. Cabo has perfect white sand and beautiful clear blue oceans make this the perfect destination get-away. A few things I would have to pay for to make this trip happen are: Flight, Rental Car, Hotel, and other fun activities to do when I get there.

  • The flight would range from around $650-750 depending on which airline I would like to take. Flight options include American, US Airways, Delta, United, and many other airlines. You have plenty of options to choose from.

  • There are many different selections of rental cars that you can chose from including the type of rental car and the place you rent from. Then rental company Dollar has great, cheap prices for small, simple cars. I can rent a Nissan Tsuru for $43 for a week. That’s about $5 a day using this car.

  • As far as sleeping goes I would rent a villa right on the beach of Cabo San Lucas. For a three person villa right on the beach, it costs about $360 per night. Week packages may be a little cheaper though.

Now let’s get to the fun part! What are some fun activities I can do? Activities range from:
  • ATVs
  • Hiking
  • Desert Safari
  • Scooter Rentals
  • Spas
  • Horse Back Riding
  • Golfing
  • Mexican Fiestas
  • Surfing

This also includes tours and cruises that you can go on too.Let’s not forget the fact that I get to sit on a nice beautiful beach all day and watch the perfect ocean, surrounded by the whitest and most beautiful sand.

I would love to go a spa while in Cabo San Lucas. I found this great spa called The Desert Spa. This place is one of the most highly rated spas in Cabo. It has many different services ranging from The Baja Bliss Facial or the Desert Rose replenishing facial. They even have facials for men too! This trip sounds so fun and there are plenty of activities to do I can’t wait to go!

Where I desire to enjoy my holiday

"Where I desire to enjoy my holiday"
Atlantis Bahamas
The place where definitely I would love to enjoy my holiday is  Atlantis BahamasAtlantis is an expensive hotel; hotel price should change depending the season of the year, if I plan to visit in a hot season I will probably pay 600 per night “something that I would not do”, but if you search other season you would find night per 200 and sometime lower. About the tickets flight in this situation this is not a headache, from Miami departure flights every half an hour, something that make the flight cheap, if you plan ahead your vacation you would find a round trip ticket for $300 or less. In this case we do not have to worry about transportation, because the hotel has a shuttle service for drop off and pick up customers from the airport to the hotel and vice versa.

Entertainment and events are things that never finish at Atlantis, if you check their schedule, you can see that they will be presenting, the wanted and Alicia Keys just the next week, their schedule is completely full of events the whole year, including concerts, sport events. Inside the hotel they have their own aquarium, ones of the best 18 golf fields, ones of the best casino in the Caribbean, ones of the best nightclub, 21 restaurant and 19 bars and lounge.

In case that you are a parent or the big brother, kids would not be a problem, because they have a lot of entertainment for kids, water slide, game room, mini golf and a lot of sports for make the kids happy while you are enjoying a delicious pina colada.
How good would be the experience? Just imagine yourself in a big water slide and during the trip you watch to your right and you can watch a big white shark or yourself walking around to a big place looking like a paradise and suddenly you find a big pool with 8 dolphins available for you for take a ride around the pool or better yet enjoying a great drink without alcohol in front of a nice beach in the Caribbean.
I hope you enjoy my blog, i hope you a great day and i leave you with this video.
